Growth Mindset

We believe in a ‘growth mindset’ and follow the groundbreaking work of Professor Carol Dweck of Stanford University in believing that effort is a key determinant of a child’s success.

We emphasise to children the importance of the 4 Ps (Perseverance, Practice, Being Positive and Pushing Yourself).

We are also influenced by the work of:

John Hattie,  and

Guy Claxton (Building Learning Power) and promote the development of pupils’ soft skills such as collaboration, adaptibility and resilience. Children are encouraged to work with learning partners of all abilities in order to develop these.
