Parents Working in Class

“It was a real pleasure to sit in on this class and see such inspirational teaching and motivated, on-task children.” (PARENT)

This is a very popular programme which gives parents the opportunity to come into school and support their child being taught alongside their classmates. We have been successfully running our PWICAC programme for many years now and sessions are usually very well attended.

Your child’s class teacher will advise on the dates of the sessions.

During the session parents will be able to observe a literacy or numeracy lesson. We ask that you take the time to complete a short questionnaire at the end of the session when the teacher will be happy to answer parents’ questions about what they have seen.

Please note that due to the limited space no more than 10 parents are able to attend each session. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Working alongside your child provides an opportunity for you to model the good learning habits that children need to learn. More importantly, it provides on opportunity for you to talk to your child in a way that our often busy schedules can prevent. Talk about the task, the purpose of the task, their ideas about the task and what it will look like when completed.

The children love it when parents take the time to support these sessions so please make every effort to come along – dads as well as mums!
