At Holy Trinity we recognise the importance of developing pupils as both local and global citizens. Children are encouraged to think about their place within the world community and to celebrate our school’s very own rich and diverse community.

Our aim is to develop well-rounded global citizens who can show empathy with others in the world at the same time as pursuing their own aspirations. We have received various grants from the European Union to promote our international work. Pupils and teachers have been on overseas visits to France, Italy, Poland, Croatia and China.

Erasmus 2020-2022

At Holy Trinity, children are given opportunities to develop their aspirations and make links with students from across the world through exciting international projects.

Our students are currently taking part in a EU Erasmus funded project (2020-2022). Named ‘E-dioms’. The aim of the project is to increase student’s cultural, linguistic and digital understanding by working alongside other European students to create an app of Cultural Sayings and Idioms from across Europe.

Through the project, students are given the opportunity to:

  • Travel abroad and visit schools, workplaces and cultural organisations in Turkey, Germany, The Netherlands, France and Spain.
  • Gain a better understanding of their own and other languages and cultures.
  • Gain real experience in software development.
  • Develop valuable digital skills that will equip them for future workplaces.
  • Be better communicators and team players.
  • Become more creative, confident and independent individuals.

The project links to our school’s focus on building aspirations and helping young people discover their talent, potential and ambitions.

Past projects

We were awarded EU Erasmus funding for a two-year project (2018-2020) named Learning with the 3 Cs Creativity, Communication and Collaboration.  As part of this last project, we visited and worked with schools in Croatia, Latvia, Poland and Turkey to teach children more about the digital media and the world of work.  All schools made links with local businesses and organisations in the creative industries or which specialise in technology. We worked with professionals to plan and produce different digital products. The project was a great success and a fantastic opportunity for our students to grow and develop.

British Council International School Accreditation

We were accredited with the British Council’s International School Award in 2012 and re-accredited in 2015.  The assessors noted: “This is an outstanding Impact Evaluation and is a very good example of how to embed the international dimension firmly into your curriculum. Your application demonstrates clearly your continued commitment to understanding and applying the principles of international education in a creative and imaginative way. It also proudly showcases your international learning journey, including your achievements and highlights the positive effects of your global learning on all stakeholders involved in the process, including students, staff, partner schools and the wider community. “
