The School Day

In brief

Gates open: 08.45 – close just before 09.00

Registration: 09.00

End of school day: 15.30 (3.30pm)

Pupils are in school for 32.5 hours.

Mornings

The school gates open at 08.45 am to avoid crowding and facilitate a smooth start to morning sessions.  Pupils should be in their classrooms ready to start lessons at 09.00.

Reception

Parents/carers should escort their children to the reception classroom via the outside play area.

Year 1

Year 1 parents/carers should escort their children to the Year 1 classroom, which can be reached by the stairs near the gate in the lower playground.  We ask that parents do not come into the classroom to hang coats etc., as we want pupils to develop their independence at this stage.

All other year groups

Pupils can find their own way to class from the bottom playground.

End of the Day

At 3.30pm parents/carers of children in Reception are asked to collect their children from their classroom.

Year 1 and Year 2 pupils will be dismissed from their classroom directly to their parents in the lower playground.

All other year groups will be brought to the bottom playground by their class teacher.

Safeguarding

Please ensure that you call the school office to notify us if someone else will be collecting your child, or if you are going to be late.  This avoids confusion and anxiety for the child involved.
